2001 presentation of our special apdl-editor at the ANSYS-usermeeting :
=> 40.000 downloads from our homepage
2002 presentation at the ANSYS-usermeeting :
"comparison of working with designspace/ansys"
2002 ansys-classic is now workbench!
userfriendly controls, but not 5% of all classic functions! (without using APDL)
=> sales promotion says :"in two years workbench will have all classic functions"
2002-09/2005 we sended over 1.000! emails to the ansys-support:
(about 20% enhancement-requests/bug reports for ansys-classic
about 80% enhancement-requests/bug reports for designspace/workbench)
08/2005 ansys-classic is "official buried" (only geometry engine?)
=> did you see the white papers (march 2004) at the ansys-download page?
=> but can we do all what we did with classic 2001?
( we try to combine the advantages of workbench with classic ,
but how long is this workaround necessary ? )
We think that the future of finite elements is a combining of disciplines:
CAD => fem-usable features and modeling embedded inside PDM-data
fem => few mathematics, more mechanics, more material-knowhow
looking at productivity -> every workaround is consuming time
software combining "easy to use" and "big functionality"
=> (good) windows programs show us the way: office-compatible and standards like VBA
